I like the number system. Some favorites:

KT-22 (still has numbers )

I really don't like the numbers and or letters system. I like creative and unique names. Breck has to be the most confusing with some numbers, some letters, and some names.

Breck's not that confusing. Peak 8 has numbers (even the 'name' lifts have numbers, although only the staff uses them) and Peak 9 has letters. Since Peak 10 has only the one lift, it's lumped in with Peak 9; the Falcon's official designation is F-chair.

I like it nice and simple, such as "Summit Express"

There are at least 7 Summit Expresses that I know of:

Lift 9 FLying squirrel Sun Valley, ID funny thing is SV gives both a number and name for lifts but we dont have a lift 13 but a 12 and 14. does anyone know of a lift 13 or are they like SV and worry no one will ride the lift?

Mammoth does not have a Chair 18, 19, or 24 currently, but they did at one point. Baker does not have a chair 4, because they replaced 4 and 5 with one lift. This is usually the case when there are missing numbers.

and back when i was young, Winter Park's summit express always brought me great curiosity to how it worked.

Least favorite lift name: Wayback (Keystone, CO)- Creativity is absolute zero
Favorite Lift Names: Gadzoom (Snowbird, UT) , Snake Creek Express (Brighton, UT)-sounds intriguing, Palivicini (A-Basin, CO), Outrigger (Winter Park, CO)- lift disappeared but nice tribute to adaptive skiers

Telluride has a surface tow (intermittent platters and waterski handles) named the Lynx Lift that is a play on words in that it links one part of the ski area to another and it also is located in an area that was studied and received a may jeopardize but will not adversly effect status from the USFWS for Lynx habitat.

"Naked Lady" at Snowmass is also an original name for a lift which would likely spark some curiousity from first time visitors.

I like the lifts at Vail that end in Bahn e.g. Vista Bahn, Eagle Bahn, Riva Bahn.

That term is used in Europe quite a bit, does anyone know what that means? I presume it refers to chairlift.

The German word for 'chairlift' is 'Sessellift' or Seilbahn'.

Not a lift, but I didn't want to start a new topic. Did anyone notice that Crystal secretly changed Iceberg Ridge to Upper Ferk's Run this season? Iceberg Gulch is now Middle Ferk's, and Lower Bull Run is now Lower Ferk's Run. The Iceberg names have been around since 1962 when Crystal opened. What the Ferk were they thinking! Of all runs to rename, why those? Who is Ferk anyways?
