You don't really have much of a choice on 410, that endless train holds everyone up. So few passing zones and so many cars.

Yeah, that drives me crazy! Like I said, it really depends on traffic. Mid week its really not that bad, but weekends are a joke.

Yeah, I'm often asked why I choose to sleep at my family's cabin (just below Alta Crystal) on Friday nights instead of sleeping at home and driving up in the morning. My answer: no traffic on Friday nights going up, and 15 minutes from the mountain. I leave around 7:15am and there's hardly anybody there, and anybody who is there knows how to drive.

It is possible to get around larger groups of slow-moving cars, as several of the passing zones are really really big, but you have to be willing to really go for it. Most of the time, its not worth it, especially since the State Patrol is always out on the weekends these days.

I've made it to Crystal in 35 minutes from Enumscratch; granted it was in the early morning before the hordes showed up and it was a wonder I didn't get a ticket. Mapquest is conservative in their speed/distance estimates. They assume you're at or below the speed limit.
Currently- 10 minutes from Ski Cooper, 25 from Copper, hour and fifteen from Loveland and Monarch. It's only an hour and fifteen minutes to Aspen right now, but in the winter it's three hours.

From our house in Centennial, it's 1 hour to Loveland, and it keeps going up from there. But having a condo in Dillon is nice. It's 7 minutes to Keystone, 12 to A-basin, 15 to loveland, 15 to Copper, exactly 23 to Breck, (I timed it. I'll bet it could go down to 15 by driving accross Lake Dillon!!  ) 35 to Vail, 40 to Ski Cooper, 45 to the Beav, 1:15 to Steamboat, it's about 1:30 to Winter Park from both Centennial and Dillon, 1:45 to Monarch, and 1:50-2:15 to the Aspen areas.

From work its about 25 minutes to Alpental and/or Hyak. Crystal is about 45min from my house under average driving speed, or 1hr to Hyak. From my cabin its 0 minutes to Hyak since the cabin is on the slopes.
