Here is the first lift demolition photo of the year, hopefully there will be lots of pics from ski areas websites this summer.

Peruvian at Snowbird being removed, it was sold on the resort boneyard, but I don't know where it's going.

So is the new lift at 49 replacing chair 1 or is it going to be the new lift in East Basin? The reason why I'm asking is because on the photo page, it says the lift will run from the bottom of Sunrise Basin to the top of the mountain, but I don't see anything called Sunrise Basin.

Not really sure what to think about the new HSS at Big White. Seems like major over kill that will lead to really bad slope conjestion. That's an uphill capacity of 5,800 people per hour in just that one area alone.

It was up on Resortboneyard, it was put up, sold quickly, and removed from the site, MadRiver just must not be updated.

Here is a great webcam showing the removal of a hall double at Ski Liberty, PA. This lift will be replaced by a DoppelmayrCTEC fixed grip quad.

YEasterday afternoon, it was still assembled, so that was just today. I have been saving the cam every day, and will make a time lapse of the deconstruction and new lift construction.

Skier, once you have all the images, you should turn it into a flash animation so that it will be like a movie.

Great idea. I've been watching it, but never thought about saving it

Too bad the resolution wasn't better on that camera. you would have seen us out there tearing it apart. On Friday we dropped the rope off towers 2-5 and put plate clamps on the rope between towers 2 and 3 with the dead men going to tower 2. This rig allows you to let the carriage go forward and you still keep the slack in your rope at the bottom to get it off the wheel. Then yeah....yesterday we tore everything apart! First thing we fed some extra chain into the existing counterweight chain to get the counterweight on the ground...then we got all the chain outta the picture (easier said than done). Then we got the depress assemblies out. Then we rigged the bullwheel and dropped that to the ground....then rigged for the longitudinal beam (tube above bullwheel) and Ian from SMI cut that out. Then it was time for the horizontal (beam that holds depress assemblies) to come out....we dropped this on the ground and un did the U-bolts that hold the rollers in place so it would slide off the top of the two legs. All in all I think it was a pretty productive 2 days.
Ian from SMI is doing the demo of this lift and so far he's done a pretty stand up job! Really cool guy to work with as well

Ian...if its the same guy...has tons of lift experience.
Used to work with him at CTEC.
Who is getting the lift?
Some beer company?
