Ski Resort Tycoon is fun for a while, but like everyone else has said, it's really easy to learn how to use it and the mountains are too small

In Ski Resort Tycoon 2, The map editor allows you to create a little bigger maps, but then one of the other admins found out how to make 'mega resorts' They are maps that are actually just the size the maps should of been before. Right now we only have two saved games of the mega resort size, I will email him about putting a blank mega map download up so everyone can make there own. The only problem is that it make your computer run slow if you don't have a very good one. go to http://www.skiresorttycoon.co.uk then go to the game downloads section, then ski resort tycoon 2, then mega resorts. I think its about time I finally check one of them out.

My reply to some of the old replies,
To make your own mega map you have to create a blank .bmp file that is 500 x 500. The most that the editor allows is 250 x 250 (just 250 in the size field) Make sure you gif file is in the \Ski Resort Tycoon 2\Data\height_maps\ folder. Then open up the map editor and click on height maps, then choose your bmp file. You can now design your megamap. Also you can use topo maps and to make resorts. We have a tutorial on how to do this on www.skiresorttycoon.co.uk Just go to game info: Ski Resort Tycoon 2, and it should be there.
------
kz-I'm not sure why the mega maps didn't work, you can make a topic in our forum and we'll try to help you out.

Aren't the people who are making mountain tycoon some of the people who created Ski Park Manager?
No they are not! There are some guys from the www.alpinforum.com and some from a French forum! Probably most are from French! I don't know whether it is first just released in French!
I heard that there is a new Ski resort Tycoon just available in the US! No.3 or powder something, I don't know! How about this one? Did anyone try it yet? is it knew or just a little new?

Yes they did release SRT Deep Powder, but it was a big dissapointment. Its basicly SRT2 with a few minor changes. Heres a list I got from the developers,
The maps of "real" ski resorts really aren't very close to real at all. Most of these things we could already change easily by editing a few files. It still has all the buildings ands stuff too. We found out Deep Powder saved games work on SRT2, but SRT2 games do not work on Deep Powder. We have some screenshots if you want to check it out. We suggest if you don't have SRT2, then you should buy it instead. If you have SRT2, its not worth it unless you really hate the nighttime.

SRT Deep Powder was a job for Activision performed via the Artex Software label. As far as I can say, Deep Powder features the following new items (much user feedback has been included here!):
1) New levels: It's now possible to play in "real" ski areas around the world (Aspen, St. Moritz, Canada, Vail... including some quite big new level maps).
2) New challenges: More mission targets in the new levels (e.g. build a snowboarder resort; build a terrain park).
3) Gameplay improvements according to user feedback (more start money, remove "yellow snow", maintenance worker is faster, and more)
4) Adjustment of game rules (e.g. buildings break less often, and much more) according to user feedback
5) New interface outlook with a preview image of the ski resort you're choosing
6) More options (turn night on/off, Repair worker is faster, remove Sasquatch, etc.)
7) Removal of some interface shortcomings; removal of the "tech tree" due to user feedback.
8) New music!
9) Graphical improvements (Snow, Mr Bob, Thought bubbles, whole inside game interface, etc.)

Well first off me being an idiot told you that they were .gif file format. :o They are supposed to be .bmp files!! I must of stayed up too late. Sorry. The link to our guide to making your own map is here. What we consider mega map is when the bmp file is 500 x 500. It can go bigger but my machine, and pretty much everyone elses cant handle it.
