Thats fun but 75 mph is pretty fast. Your lucky that you didn't have a speeding ticket :P

That's the speed limit on the interstates! Not like here in Canada, where we have corners in our roads ;) and a max speed of 100kph here.

Maybe in BC but in Alberta Most majour routes are 110kph and highway 2 to Calgary is unoficialy 130kph though most resorts are in national parks which are 90 kph

Coquitlam (home of Matthew Good)- that explains a great deal. I think you've got the worst traffic in the Lower Mainland. I've been stuck on the Number One for an hour between Burnaby and the Port Mann before. :help:

Same here, but it was during a transit strike and took us four hours to get from Surrey to West Vancouver.

Yes that sucked big time, and then the condo at Creekside sucked bad too. We had to climb like 300 stairs to the condo.

Vancouver traffic is always slow with the low capacity highway 1 running like half the city

Ahh the transit strike of 2001, boy i'd like to forget that!
How could you, when it was headline news on all the Vancouver stations forever?

We've got some great drivers in the mountains here. On highway 50 (to south lake) it is mostly 1 lane in each direction, with oassing lanes every 5 miles or so. On the 1 lane sections, everyone is going 25-30, where 45-60 is easily done (no ice on road), then in the passing lanes, everyone floors it, so no one is passed, and even if there is a chance, drivers are oblivious and stay in the left lane and dont pass. It sucks becasue for about 15-20 miles from sierra its like this, so it takes much longer then it has to. Also in california the limit is 65 MPH on the freeways unles otherwise noted, and 75 on I-5. Cool thing is the cops are alright, and if you are with the flow and not passing more than are passing you, you can go 80-85 MPH

Big Bear in 2 hours...
Man, Traffic in Tahoe is horrible in winter weather... 3 hours from Incline to Northstar on the 267... On that day, I had some friends going to sacramento, it took them 6 hours to go to Truckee from Carson City on the 80. It took them another 4 hours to reach Sacramento.
another day, they shut down the 267 while I was at Northstar, so I had to go around to the 89, only to find that an avalanche had shut down that route. Then I waited an hour at Squaw Valley before it opened again... the trip took 3 hours. The skiing was worth it though... no one there.

That makes no sense at all. Why would you go to carson city to go home to sacramento. Thats driving east to nevada, when you want to go west in california.
The traffic on 88 and 395 was fine when i came home the day after christmas. :P
