The article references to sizes that of WB, but not directly related to WB or it being a WB project.

Ooops, I never read the entire article. I just saw it on Google and it said Whistler Blackcomb, expanded snowcat skiing.
Golden is the town that Kicking Horse Resort is located.

Assuming this is lift related im gonna make four guesses: One. Wizard and Solar Coaster are going to be replaced. Two. New Crystal Chair Three. New lifts in creek to peak and four some sort of lift to connect the two mountains. All would be SWEET especially the last!

I would like to see the Excalibur gondola extended up to the Rendezvous lodge.

I doubt Orange will be upgraded since Garbanzo the purple giant already covers that same terrain.

It will either be Peak to Creek or a connection I think

Today the mountain had a meeting for all staff to announce the construction of a tri-cable gondola joining Whistler and Blackcomb. The Whistler station will be just beside(uphill) of the roundhouse restaurant. The Blackcomb station will be beside the top of Solar coaster chair. Solar and Catskinner will be shortened. The lift will cost 40-50 million dollars to build. It will be very similar to the one just opened at Kitzbuhel. The public announcement is tonight at the local town council meeting. Will post more details as I get them.
You heard it here first.

Perhaps if someone could draw where the lift would be on a trail map and that could help those who haven't skied WB to better understand this new inter-connect gondola.

Any guesses on the manufacturer? I would think Doppelmayr because they've built others like it.

The lift will be a Doppelmayr. If we can get an order finalised by Nov. 1st, construction will start in 2006. It 's a 2 year job so look for an opening in fall/winter 2007/2008. As soon as I can get some more info to post I will. I've seen some computer generated pictures of the terminals in their final locations so will try to get a copy to post. Theres a bunch of pictures in the Doppelmayr 2005 world book. Also check out this page at funivie http://www.funivie.o...i/kitzbuhel_3s/ Ours will be pretty much the same with different buildings around the machinery.
