I forgot to post in here before I left but I am up in Calgary tonight and skiing Louise tomorrow and then heading on to Prince Rupert to catch a ferry to Alaska on Monday morning. I also Stoped off at COP and have some pics of the single chair that I will post when I have bandwidth.

Theres a place for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.

I'll be in Grand Junction atending the RMLA conference until Friday; too busy soaking up knowledge and drinking fermented grain beverages to post anything.

Nope, that is Skagway way up at the top of SE Alaska. Ketchikan is south of Juneau. BTW, we have a house in Haines, AK.

I'll be gone all next week...road trip up north to see the relatives. We've never driven it before, I hear it takes about a full day of driving time. Should be kinda fun. We're leaving this afternoon and we'll be back next Saturday. I might have some access, but probably not

Ketchikan is just barely in Alaska, and btw I heard about a ski area on the island that closed about 20 years ago that I am going to be investigating. And there is a snow field that is still there on the top of the peak in town so I may be skiing that soon. I will have the pics that I have to upload on the site on sunday hopefully including pics of a tour of lake louises old gondola. I've been busy as :censored: up here since I got here so hopefully they will be up soon.

There was actually a T-bar installed there in 1980 by Harusch and was 1800 ft long.

Ah ok thanks for the info. I will hopefully be going up there to see if there are any remnants of the lift and the area. I am not hopeful though as trees and foliage grows really really fast here.

I was away for the last week. Went up to Manning Park. Hiked to the top of the Orange Chair. And I got lots of pix. Also got some of the bottom of the T-bar again. PLUS. I got a book with the history of Manning Park with some lift stuff. I will scan those pages asap. I dont know if anyones intrested about this but i found a map in a hiking book that shows the liftline of a old mining lift. Today i hiked in down a overgrown old road to the base site. I dont know how long ago the lift was there but it would be at least 60yrs ago. It is completely overgrown with bushes and i couldnt find anything from the lift although i found a old old outhouse and collapsed house plus some really old juice cans. If you guys want more info or pics of the mining lift just say so and i will post the stuff.

I'm technically away, but my in-laws have a much better connection than mine at home so I'll be on about as much as usual.
