It's not fair! Why must it be so far away?!
Over 4th of July, they are planning on running chairs 1, 2, 3, 11, and either 23 or the gondolas, depending on the days (The gondola is now closed during the week to prepare it for the summer)
Sorry everyone in the northwest, we took all your snow.
Sorry should I have put this in the images section? If anyone wants to move it, go ahead.

In the second pictures, are those guys using a come along to lift up the haul rope, so they can replace a sheave?

I wanted to go up over the 4th but I have to move again this summer (horay!). That snow got kinda nasty fast but there is still a ton. I was looking at some pictures of them plowing the road to devil's postpile and it is easily 8 or 9 feet deep. It sure was a good snow year.

Duck - Yes, if one needed replacing. They can also check and grease the bushings and sheave bearings as well.

We use a 3 ton chain come along to lift most of the weight off the sheaves. Then we install our sheave crane to replace the heavy 500 sheaves. The sheave crane really saves the back when you have a lot of sheaves to replace. The pictures of the guys on the tower is on Panorama Gondola.

Am I seeing the photo right, or are the guys using two chain hoists on that gondola tower? Must be heavy.

This tower is just before the big span to the top of the mountain. They are using 2 3 ton chain come-alongs to lift lift the rope, yes a very heavely loaded tower.
