so the first HSQ at Breck, Colorado (and world) built by Doppelmayr in 1981 was just located. It was removed by Poma in 1999 for the Quicksilver Super Six and reinstalled at Owls Head in Quebec, Canada. Here is a link to see pictures http://carnetduski.com/Carnetvoyages/carnv...ie/owlshead.htm and it is the 4th and 5th pictures from the top. I guess the lift was really slow and used their 'old' style of chairs.

I found a picture of this lift a while back and posted it in the Random Images post, because I wasn't sure if that was the old Quicksilver or not.
Mt. Bachelor's Summit Triple Express had that same chair design and grip. It was built two years after the Quicksilver Express.

Nice to see it's not gone. I bet they upgraded it when it was re-installed.

here is what that page says in english for the non=french speakers including me...
To the quadruple first débrayable bought nine during the years 80 thanks to the governmental advantages added a quadruple other well-worn débrayable that replaced the orange chair of the quotation of the lake. This climbed one back up one is the first high speeds ever installed in North America. It was obtained from Brekenridge, Colorado. (photo)

I haven't read the article, but I'm pretty sure that one of the Breck lift maintenance guys helped design the original Quicksilver. His name is Jon Mauch, and he's currently the head of maintenance at both Breck and Keystone.

Nice! :) I like the chain system that moves the chair through the terminal.
