Habegger

I think Vancouverguy said it was the only two lifts that Habegger ever built.

No, they built lots of lifts over in Europe, and the Hell's Gate airtram in Spuzzum BC...and i'm still trying to figure out if the Blue tram is a Von Roll or a Habegger.

Here's a pic of the Peak Chair

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Peak chair used to have a Doppelmayr plaque in the bottom terminal? I seem to remember one.

No it didn't, it had a plaque (which is still there) with the date it opened (no mention of any lift manufacturer)...you're probably thinking of the old cut double, which was a Doppelmayr.

There you go. I knew I had seen one. I didn't know Habegger used an insert clip. The last time I rode the Peak I was too busy fending off killer mosquitoes :censored:

Here is a photo of the skyline gondola in Queenstown NZ. It's a doppelmayr built in 1967 but recently updated. It feaures a 450m vertical climb with an impressive 37 degree incline. (some how i think it is much steeper)

If that's what i think it is we see yet another use for a Meuller portal tower. I have no clue where it would be from if that's indeed what it is.

ahhh so part of the Slver Star Yellow Chair still lives on. it was sold to a place in Russia BTW, and since it was sold around the time that the Telus Park opened and that Big White and Silver Star are owned by the same company...that has to be it!

Just for your knowlegde John the bottom of Wildcat has since been painted green.

liftmech's Photo liftmech 27 Feb 2005

Is that so it would match Collins, you suppose?

iceberg210's Photo iceberg210 28 Feb 2005

Yeah I'd guess as all they're lifts with the exception of Cecret and Rustler now have green paint.

Here is the only photo that i'm aware of of one of silver star's YAN HSQ terminals. As you can see, behind the woman, it's a Yancake design.

And here's a pic of the former Yellow chair @ Silver Star, now located somewhere in Russia. The Meuller towers in this pic, and others, seem to be wider.

Wow the freight on something like that would make it seem almost not worth moving it.
