At least they could have taken the grips off the chairs for the paintjob so they didn't get overspray on them... I like the black too :)

It's not even that great a color anyway. I've never been a fan of painted chairs

Silverlode's chairs are painted, but they're painted the original black.

I dont mind black chairs, but otherwise i dont reall like them with one exception; riblet double chairs. They seem to look good when they are painted blue, yellow or red

I think they should just be left plain. The paint always chips off and it looks like it's falling apart, and then it must cost a lot more for the resort to paint all of them. And for the ones we were talking about at Whistler, that color is so close to the original color it's hardly even worth painting. But if they have to be painted, black is the best color

Chairs, Towers and Terminals aren't usually painted to cover stuff up, if there is a problem it normally is fixed and then painted. Paint is used as exterior protection to prevent rust and other corrosion. It's also used to make the lift look better (obviously!!) so the powers that be do have a little say on colour :)

Or a third reason a resort would paint at least the towers and terminals would be because the TRPA ordered them to (think Gunbarrel at Heavenly; they were required to paint the lift the way it was).

The Monorail Rocks! Ask to sit in the front, and they'll let you depending on who the attendent is. One day they told us no because of 9/11 but the next day we got right in.

I always try to sit up there at Disney World in FL. It's awesome. Then when you leave you get a little certificate that says 'Monorail Co-Pilot'
