Anyone notice that a couple of the boarders took off their board to ride? That would be me, becuase there is no way I could figure out how to get off without bowling over everyone else in the process. :)

Actually, those are the same size as any Poma Omega T grip, which are on newer high speed quad, six-packs, and eight-packs. They are also found on eight person gondolas and below. 10 person Poma gondola and up require the double grip.

The carrier itself is really robust. I know it would be more important on the larger carriers but the swing dampener would be nice to have on some of the six packs and quads I have been on.

Oops, nevermind I guess it doesn't have the spring after I looked at the picture. It just has a strong hanger and damper, but there appears to be no spring.

Oh ok is there really a need for these dampeners or is it just the lifts that I have ridden, like the falcon that is high above the trees at the top?

There would probably be only swing dampeners on eight-packs and lifts known to be very susceptible to swinging.

I believe that most of the new carriers do a pretty good job at keeping the chair from swinging but I haven't ridden the Falcon.
