The fastest chairlift that I've ever ridden on was the Super Bee lift at Copper mountain. The slowest was most likely the Sunshine lift at Steamboat. (11 minutes for a verical rise of 300 ft.)

The slowest would definitely be the A lift at Breck. it takes 14 minutes. I'm not sure about the fastest, theyv always run them at different speeds than the one posted. I'll say the Independence SuperChair at Breck.
See my profile for a pic of the latter.

My life or my chocolate: Give me a minute, I'm thinking.

Isn't it odd that "politics" is made up of the word "poli" meaning many, and "tics" meaning blood-sucking creatures?

A is not only a long ride but its really anoying since it goes nowhere. When it went all the way to the base there was actualy a use for it but now i just goes across and slightly up the mountain.

Theres a place for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.

THey might want to just extent the quicksilver and modify it so that it goes to where the A lift is now aand trash A.

The problem with A is where it terminates there are only 2 runs down, 2 catwalks. Its completely underutilized. It will probably be gone soon.

But the problem would be that the two runs from that lift would only be accesible after riding one of the four lifts that takes you to the top of Peak 9. The beginners who would typically ride that lift owuld have to do blues, which could be a problem. But, then again, I have no other solution except to extent Quicksilver or put in a new lift, which would simply be replacing an already useless lift. Hey! they could make the current top of the Quicksilver an unload midstation, and extend it to those runs!

That could be done but I'd just say demolish A after a few rollback tests . Then just let all the beginers have the QSS.

We'll take A; I'm sure we could find a place for it somewhere since we don't have any lifts in the boneyard anymore. (Just my pipe dream since I'm the only Riblet mechanic at Copper and no-one else wants to learn...)

Maybe from the intersection of I-dropper and liberty up to the top of flyer.

That would actually make a certain amount of sense; one could ski the upper runs and not have to go all the way down to the bottom. I've always felt that the Flyer is better as an access lift than a round-trip one.

I would be especially nice when going from the super B over to timberline so you dont have to go all the way to the base or ride S or drop over the back and ride mountain chief.

True, it is hard to find a mid point to stop on the middle and left side of copper.
