Well here it is, the new Doppelmayr CTEC UNI-GS terminal. I like the UNI-G a lot more than this new terminal design. It seems like CTEC has to rebel against mergers and they come out with their own design. When Garaventa CTEC merged, CTEC never offered the MCS terminal, but only offered the Garaventa carrier desgin (chair) and the grip. I hope Doppelmayr CTEC doesn't get rid of the UNI-G in the future, because if they do I will be upset. :help:

This terminal looks more like a Poma Omega terminal that has retroffited a Yan HSQ than anything else I've seen.

P.S. Notice where the windows are supposed to be at the end of the terminal. The UNI-G terminal has big glass windows which allows more light in, the UNI-GS still has those windows cut out in the frame, replaced with sheet metal and has a the small windows that are found on the Stealh HSL's. I hope this merger doesn't ruin Doppelmayr's good looks. :help:

Compare the under structure of the UNI-GS terminal with a Yan HSQ that has been retrofitted by Poma. Looks very similar I think.

Why could they not just make it a shortened uni-g. Why do they have to spend the extra money to change an already good design. grrr

I've been looking at new lift installs on the alpinforum's website, and so far I've seen a few really short UNI-G terminals, so they are out there, maybe Doppelmayr CTEC just doesn't want to offer them and this is their solution?

It's not bad...I just wish they would have metal tension towers instead of enormous concrete ones

It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't replace the big windows with those small windows from the Stealth. Like that only saves the buyer like $100? Somethings just make me wonder why the heck would they do this. I would never choose this terminal if I bought a lift. I'm going to e-mail Doppelmayr wondering if they will eventually stop making the UNI-G and switch to the UNI-GS terminal design.

Some of the users on the Alpinforum also don't like this and prefer the UNI-G over this terminal.

If that's the new Champagne HSQ @ panorama it sure is odd.

How is it odd, it looks a lot better than the UNI-GS. The railing whicn you see outside the window that looks like a deck, I'm guessing that will be a catwalk to walk to the tower. Willamette Pass has this same thing on their HSS.

Cameron, sorry, but how can you tell that ctec changed the windows?

Panorama may have wanted the windows to be like that on the bottom

The UNI-GS terminal doesn't bother me that much, but the CTEC windows do and thats the thing that makes me not really like this terminal. The nice big windows that the UNI-G has, has been replaced with the same windows that are found on the back side of the Stealth Terminal. They are the small windows which I see surrounded by sheet metal that are covering up the nice big windows that should be there. To have those big windows there should cost under $1500 unless Doppelmayr wanted to raise the price up drastically because they are custom windows which would be stupid. $1500 isn't a lot of money when you buy a 3.7 million dollar lift.

Is that lift called panorama or is it @ panorama

It's called Panorama and it's at Gunstock.

k good i though it was the bottom terminal for Champagne @ panorama

panorama has the large lettering on some of their lifts but they've gone witha new paintscheme so i was a little confused

I like it- You can definetly see the CTEC influience though. Also, the sheet metal covering isn't really blended in on the end, so maybe it's an option

It just seems so weird that CTEC has to rebel against everything come out with their own product. When Garaventa and CTEC merged, CTEC should have also manufactured the MCS terminal rather than just making their chair design. Now that Doppelmayr and CTEC are now together, I don't want them to rebel and come out with their own chair terminal design, UNI-GS and then offer Doppelmayr's chair design. I e-mailed Doppelmayr wondering if they will continue to manufacture the UNI-G terminal and go with the UNI-GS instead and I have had no reply yet. I just hope they keep the UNI-G, I'm sorry I just love this termianl and don't want to see CTEC take over another lift great lift company without offering their products. :(
