To return to the original topic. I believe what we have here is a Pullman-Berry lift. When Stadeli's original importer based in NY lost the rights to import to The Waterville Valley Corporation around 1970, they began building Pullman-Berry lifts. This company was somehow related to the Pullman train company. This chair looks exactly like one they built in PA. I think butternut Ma may have had one at some point as well.

about the floating bull wheels, i dont know about lifts, but gore mountain had a poma lift instaled about 6 years ago, it has a floating bull wheel. also, middlebury colledge snowbowl has a floating bull wheel

I don't think any floating bulwheels have been installed recently except for surface lifts.
