Are You Ready For Some Skiing, Seattle?

November 18, 2003

By KOMO Staff & News Services

SEATTLE - The recent foul weather may be a bother to some of us here in the Northwest, but not skiers and snowboarders. All the rain in the lowlands means snow in the Cascades, and that means skiing is almost here.

Because of the recent snowfall, Crystal Mountain's Green Valley ski area will open Thursday. Parts of Mount Baker also open Thursday.

Oregon's Mount Bachelor might be able to open Friday.

Resort officials at Snoqualmie Pass say they're still hoping for an early opening this year, but they still need more snow.

I don't know if I'm going to be able to make it up to Bachelor Saturday liked I hoped. I have to write another essay. :(

My brother went to Crystal yesterday- said it was most excellent. My dad also said that everything but chair 6 is open! I think I'm in the wrong state this winter. I've seen grass sticking up on Loverly, and we've still only got the runs we can make snow on. Compare this to last winter, eh?
