Montezuma was an early '90s build, so it's not the oldest lift out there. If Keystone would have totally removed and replaced it, it would have made an excellent second-hand option for a larger resort in the Midwest or a small Western resort. What is the likelihood that anything other than the grips will be salvaged (terminals, line equipment) now that we know the towers and chair are to be re-used?

Does anyone know if the chairs from the Falcon lift are being re-used somewhere? They were replacement chairs from the late 90s or early 00s. Those chairs would look great on the High Lonesome lift at Mary Jane since Hi/Lo's chairs are 1985 Poma original complete with the dysfunctional 3-prong footrests.

The chairs, bails only, are to be saved for possible future use. These have about 11,000 hours on them.

Beaver Creek are getting a new Doppelmayr.

Not completely - the chairs, towers, and gearbox will be from Montezuma. Beaver Creek didn't want a Poma in the group buy.

Was the gearbox replaced at some point? Or do they just last forever? Pardon my ignorance.

They don't last forever but most are fairly bomber.

It is the original gear box. It was probably rebuilt at 25,000 hours (8 years ago)

Virginia City going to Teton Pass, per BB Facebook. Is it going in this year or next?

The Saddleback ski area in Maine was apparently sold in the past couple of days. For those who don't know, Saddleback hasn't opened for the past two seasons. The previous owners have been trying to sell the ski area since then but nothing has happened until now. Here is a link with details:

I guess the plan is to reopen this upcoming season with two new lifts. The old rangeley double chair (modified Mueller) is going to be replaced with a fixed grip quad. The cupsuptic T bar (Hall) will be replaced with a new T bar. Both new lifts will be manufactured by Doppelmayr.

There is a possibility of an eight seater gondola being installed at Belleayre ski resort this summer.

Steamboat has pushed the opening of the rebuilt Gondola off to July 21st, still lots of work going on with it by Doppie and Steamboat lift maintenance. Hurting summer ops but lots going on down on the lower area and base area.

Vail had some pictures on their Twitter feed suggesting that the Northwoods Express will be a Leitner-Poma six pack.

Already in progress. Doppelmayr lift with CWA cabins, 6700 feet long, 1400 vertical, 16 towers, 60 cabins, 1000fpm. I posted some pictures on a different site, but this site won't let me insert images, so I'm posting a link to there.
