This is interesting ... Starwood appears to be completely exiting the "leisure" business, mostly concentrating on real estate.
A while ago they divested themselves of Starwood Hotels, which included Sheraton, Westin, W, and a few others ... It was spun off as an independent for a bit, and now is owned by Marriott. Part of the Marriott deal required spinning off the Starwood Vacation Ownership timeshare/resort business.
With the ski resorts now sold, they're basically out of the leisure business, except for some very high end (e.g. NYC boutique) hotels.
Mostly now, they own a bunch of shopping malls and apartment complexes.
