Seems like Virginia City at Bridger Bowl is definitely a go for next year.

It's the last Riblet with green towers and red chairs at Bridger, will mark the end of an era. Hopefully they sell the chairs, I'd love to buy one.

It's the last Riblet period at that resort.

I know, I live in Bozeman. All the Riblets Bridger had were painted that way, its somewhat of an iconic local image.

I was just at Bridger looking at the Bridger Lift control and for the first time an EMAX control. Did not know his control was so cool! Tried getting a couple VC chairs in my Subaru but they wouldn't fit. Had to go for a couple Cold Smokes instead.

Wish I could EMax my SkyTrac but that would be a hard sale for a new lift. I'm running 3 EMax control systems very happy with them wish all my lifts had them.

Almost all the control systems available on the market are about to be redesigned due to the new ANSI B77 revisions. Not sure if it impacts this seasons builds but I know its on the way.

It got missed here, but Boyne is replacing the Gatlinburg Sky Lift with a brand new fixed grip triple, to open in time for the spring mountain tourist season. Per Liftblog, it's to be a Doppelmayr Alpinstar triple chair with custom wooden seats.

Not sure if the Anakeesta project up there got mentioned either, but it's to have a fixed grip Chondola:

It's also currently under construction (they broke ground about a month after the fires)

It's about time! Basin needs more lifts that people will actually ride to take people off the gondolas.

Bummed for Wildcat. It was one of my favorites. I learned to ski on the old Littlecat, then went immediately to Wildcat, bypassing Becker, to get to the more fun intermediate and advanced runs. It was worth it. I got me one of the old Littletcat chairs when it was replaced with the HSQ, I hope I can do the same with Wildcat. Finances are tough right now though. And assuming they sell off the old chairs. I doubt anyone wants a 40+ year old FGT. Even with it being in as great of condition as it is.

So is old K going into storage to possibly become a new longer C1?

Possibly. We've discussed it for sure, but I've not heard anything definite.

Alta Supreme will be an LP according to Liftblog. I'm going to be eating my words about that one being a Dopp, sorry for the misinformation. Although I will appreciate the more comfortable chairs :luv:

Taos is getting a SkyTrac triple and a Leitner Poma Pulse gondola with two sets of three - 6 place cabins. And next year a Leitner Poma Detach quad to replace Lift 1 an old 89 fixed grip Poma. The lifts this year will replace Rueggli 50 year old Stadeli relocated in 91 to the beginner hill and Lift 3 a 40 year old Stadeli compact lift. The beginner hill will be reconfigured to use one lift while the Pulse Gondola moves you steps away from the resort Plaza to the children's center which will be completely remodeled and reconfigured as well. Exciting year here at Taos.

If they are hiring Leitner-Poma, why are they replacing the entire lift instead of doing an “Alpha Evolved” conversion?
I have to say that I'm still surprised to see not only snowboarders but now gondolas and detachable lifts at Taos. Are they abandoning the hardcore attitude and giving in to the (admittedly smart) revenue stream of families and destination skiers, or are they planning to upgrade only the lifts and not facilities such as lodging and dining?

There is a lot of facility upgrades going on. This year they opened new Blake Hotel and this year Children's Center is getting an overhaul and completely reconfigured. The Evolved alpha don't think there's enough room with current configuration to make that happen looks like it takes up a lot more space than a detach terminal.

Sounds like Magin mtn might finally complete the long awaited green lift. From their Facebook page: "We are going try and get it open for next season. Will help Magic open earlier than ever with snowmaking and provide easier access to our terrain for families with young kids learning to ski."

For those who don't know, this lift is a used borvig double that is allegedly the old betwixt lift from Stratton. Construction began in 2003 but has yet to be finished. I would say the lift is about 75% complete currently. It has been rumored that this lift may not ever been completed in favor of using the parts for a beginner lift. New owners that took over this past season have been investing much into the mountains infrastructure to revitalize the area. The completion of the green lift is part of this revitalization. Will be interesting seeing another borvig brought into service.
