We have another storm hitting Colorado tonight and tomorrow. This time there is a good chance Durango, Telluride, Grand Junction, and Glenwood Springs area resorts might get some much needed snow. Also looking promising for up north at Steamboat. Keeping fingers crossed! Ya'll at these resorts check in! Hell, anyone at any of the resorts regardless of state or country check in and tell us civi's what the heck is going on!?

Storm hit SLC about 5pm today. We got probably 3" in the valley, Alta was projected at about a foot. Big Sky opening Thanksgiving largely due to snowmaking. It's been cold enough, even without much natural snow. I think they got some last night, a little hard to tell since I came the other way from Bozeman.

Big sky got 6-8" last night 2-3" in Gallatin Gateway where I live. Big Sky opened with Explorer chair and the carpets today with foot traffic on Ramcharger to access the restaurant up there. With the conditions the way they are up there I will be playing pickup hockey till they improve.

Opening day has been a blast at stratton. Its been interesting to compare this webcam looking down on stratton between February 2015 (we had powder conditions!) December last year (awful) and 6 hours ago (somewhere in between). It shows you that there isn't much of a massive difference.

Oh and Telluride opens on the 2nd.

Snuck up during a free morning I had earlier this week. Mostly to break in my new boots but also just to be on the mountain. Considering the fact that we've had "less than ideal" snow, it wasn't bad. Where they had been snowmaking was covered and it looked OK in most other places. Patrol did mention something about Swifty's off ramp having no snow though.

Pretty low-key at Copper. B, C, E, F, H, O-1 are open, each with one or two runs. Hoping to open I this Friday. Hoping to wring some precip out of this system currently aimed at us.

I can't help but notice Waterville Valley's Green Peak lift doesn't have a haul rope or chairs up. https://www.youtube....h?v=5h1dPrFyDUk
Any images of the lift in progress in it's new location that anyone's found by chance?
At least the map acknowledges it http://www.watervill...ow-report-maps/

Virtually all the areas in NH have started. Save for the typical small areas ; Whaleback, Granite Gorge, and McIntyre, all of which are the small, local, beginner / 2 minutes away from home so why not areas. Maybe not so much for whaleback but I think you all get what I mean

All good. All open except symphony, and that is this weekend coming up. Cold weather means the snowmakers a hammering the lower mountain for the ski outs.

Stratton is getting DUMPED on. Snowbowl was spinning on Saturday and Sunday, which is a great sign (it started spinning right before MLK last year). Hopefully we get Shooting Star next week (also was right before MLK last year), and Sunrise by christmas (we got it in mid-february last year).

It has turned out to be a very good January in terms of snowfall for most parts of Colorado and Utah, and I'm seeing news reports of impressive accumulations for the Tahoe ski areas. How are things doing for those of you down in New Mexico/Northern Arizona, and those of you along the east coast?
