Looking forward to making turns again, I hope Utah gets a decent snow pack this year!! Could also use the water for next summer.

We are off to a very very bad season. It's been super warm in the high country of Colorado and I just heard that A-Basin may need to close or reduce operating days until the weather is more favorable for snow making as what they are putting down is melting :(

Getting consistent snow in the alpine here. Not had any snowmaking temps yet. Would be nice if the freezing level dropped a few hundred meters.

No snowmaking temps here either... Guns are just sitting there waiting! Freezing level appears to be at about 2000 meters, here anyways.

Just in, Sunshine Village Banff opens tomorrow with 3 lifts and about 40% of runs. They are the first in Canada :) As my now home mountain I will let you know how it is on Friday!

First day up today. It has been a lot warmer than expected so it was 'west coast powder'. Makes a good base though. Skiing was overall great with little showing considering early season.

Best achievement though was my 4 year old finally able to come off his leash as he mastered snowplow stops.

Nothing wrong with West Coast Powder, as long as it's a short term thing.

Keystone & Breckie a no go for November skiing? What a shame.

Loveland *might* open a run or two this week.

Stratton opens on the 23rd, Telluride 24th, Bird is 19th. I can't speak for Telluride or Bird, but Stratton usually is fairly scrappy on thanksgiving. Usually Gondi, Ursa and maybe Amex with probably 5 trails open. Only enjoyable Thanksgiving experience I've had at stratton was 2014, we got 6 inches that day. Putting expectations low. Hoping by mid-December Shooting Star is up and by christmas Sunbowl is in full swing (last year Shooting star opened mid-January, sunbowl opened in March).

Lake Louise just postponed opening from Nov. 10th to 18th. They have good snow up top, but bottom is bare. It looks like the top of most Canadian Rockies resorts are OK, but lower half is bare. Overall BC is getting hit by warm wet weather from Hawaii. That is pushing across to Alberta and keeping things warm. Here in Calgary the average temp for yesterday is a high of +4.2 C and a low of -7.8 C. Yesterday we had a low of 10C and a high of 21C.

We'll be postponing our opening as well. We were going to open tomorrow but with the same weather as our neighbours, we'll try next Friday (the 18th).

It might be early season but was very busy at Sunshine yesterday. I was told over 5000 on mountain. Also seems the gondola (only up and need for download as ski-out closed) was being temperamental. Was out for 20 minutes at 10am and then half speed for a bit after.

The snow was great in the afternoon, but a few spots where rocks now poking through. With a 70 cm base, the groomers are doing a great job of harvesting snow to keep runs skiable.

Two photos below are the mountains (and my boys skiing) and the hour long line to download on the gondola at the end of the day.

Snowbird postponed indefinitely. Cold front should arrive on the 18th though, hopefully we can get back on track.

We're due some snow here in the Rocky Mountains in the next day or two. Hopefully enough to give the jump start to snow making for our friends up in the high country. Good luck!

Looks like Waterville Valley can't open up by Nov 19 but they say some more favorable weather will follow for snowmaking.

Here's testament to the great work by you folks up at Copper for accommodating the Ski Team even though the conditions in the high country suck. Congrats!

We finally got snow today in Denver, and a few inches up in the high country. Here's to hoping that its cold enough from here on for some good snow making. Check in when you folks get a chance.

Well, guess I was wrong about stratton. Now they are saying 25th I believe. Telluride postponed, but right now they are getting dumped on, so they will have good snow probably on the 28th, when they open.
