Sky track seems to be adding a lot of last minute lifts this year. I guess that is no different from last year. I stole a couple of photos of christmas' old hall coming down.from facebook.

New Doppelmayr triple at Sunday River to be installed soon, replacing the damaged Borvig: http://www.newenglan...php?storyid=470

I assume the choice of a triple rather than a quad has to do with the insurance company.

No, it is because the recently installed carpet loader will be reused and it is only designed for a triple chair.

One of the reasons, but not the deciding factor.

Ah yes, the old lightning rod World Cup Triple. Albertsson-Stadeli would be very proud another of his lifts lives on, grant it has a Doppie drive.

I'm assuming insurance, wind and existing tower components played a factor. What did I miss?

Big Sky announced that the Bubble 6 replacing Lone Peak will be named "Powder Seeker". I'm sure it was to avoid confusion with the Tram, but I think they could have done a lot better.
I'll probably just call it Seeker, that doesn't sound as bad.

I thought that Squaw was going to replace Red Dog this year, but I guess I will have to deal with the old slow triple for now.

It almost looks like that tower was just stuck in the dirt without a footing

Is it new? The shack has a Doppelmayr CTEC sign on it. I thought they dropped the CTEC name back in 2011? Maybe a used shack? Or just an excess of signs they are trying to use up? Always nice to see a new T-bar get put in!

The last photo is from the bottom of Mittersill Double looking towards the T-bar. Mittersill is a 2011. The new T-bar is an LST

Two new sky trac lifts for powder mtn. Adding 1060 acres of skiing, that's quite the expansion.
