Personally, I think that Alta should stay the way, or let them in slowly. Here is why.
1) If they let them in all at once, the first year would suck for everyone, with yelling everywhere and no snow that isn't in the liftline.
2) As a boarder, the mountain would be impossible to ride. TraverseTown USA.
3) Hell, I liked Bird more than Alta by a fair amount. If I started boarding, I wouldn't really care.

Its been quite awhile since I've skied Alta but as I remember it, the traversing doesn't look like much fun for a boarder. There are plenty of places to go boarding close by. I think its cool to have a skiing scenario like Alta to change it up from the typical resort.

It would be cool to have two exact mountains, one skiing and one boarding to see exactly what the ski condition differences there are between the too.

Skiing alta/Bird in March 2013, Alta was much more skied off than snowbird. People flock to Alta for more reasons than bird. Alta is skier-only, and opened in 1939. Bird has good snow. People will go more to Alta.

It really would have to be staged for something like that to work (assuming you want to know which tracks more snow).

It really depends where on the mountain you are as to where the better snow is. Parts of the Peruvian side can be an absolute disaster, but High T is worse than Cirque.

I am just talking hypothetical. It can't happen in reality but it would be interesting to see the results.

I mainly was skiing Cirque, Mineral, Little cloud, and Gad 2 when I was there. When I went over to Alta I tried a run on Loaf which had a line, and was skied off, tried Collins, which was the same boat and Supreme was the same way! That was when I gave up and went over and skied Little Cloud and Gad 2 for the rest of the day.
