Do we have any pics of the Partek Lifts?

I have pictures that I took of the Partek quad at Mountain Creek NJ. Feel free to upload them, please just watermark them with chairlift.org.

Thanks,

David

Gentlemen,

You are welcome to take photos off of our website and post them. The website address is www.partekskilifts.com

The Mountain Creek lift is six years old, considerable upgrades have been made since then.

P.S. My position at Partek is President/Owner

Hagen, that's really cool that you visit and contribute to the site. It really amazes me because the other lift manufacturers know about our site but don't visit it, plus your high up. We used to have one person from Doppelmayr of Europe that would visit the site but I haven't seen him around lately. Well, I just thought I would thank you for contributing the site.

So what's the deal with the Partek high speed quad? How are the designs coming along, and when do you think it will be finished?

Tyler, I think that Hagen said that information will be released in 2005. :) I don't think Partek would like to release that information right now; however, it would be nice.

The Triple at Ski Ward in Massachusetts has the older Mueller lower towers with the new Partek cross arms and sheaves. Looked weird at first but cool after awhile. If the place was not a bump (178' of vert) I would have rode the lift to add to my count. Partek, SLI, and Miner Denver are the only chairs I have not had the pleasure to ride on. If I had Pics I would have uploaded them. I believe you can see that from one of the pictures on the Partek website.

Partek chairs are nice... The East mountian chairs at Jack Frost, PA, are two partek doubles next to each other. I like the lifts a lot. They are expert lifts, so they run fast. And, (repeating myself) the chairs are comfy. I like the upside down question mark. :)

Theres a place for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.

"You could say that a mountain is alot like a woman, once you think you know every inch of her and you're about to dip your skis into some soft, deep powder...Bam, you've got two broken legs, cracked ribs and you pay your $20 just to let her punch your lift ticket all over again"

I don't think so. There were Borvigs at one time, but they've since been torn down. Chances are somebody will buy one in the near future, being as they are the third of only three choices of manufacturer these days.

Heres the story:

And Then There Were Two

SAM Magazine--Salt Lake City, Utah, January 25, 2005--The lift supplier field just got smaller as Doppelmayr CTEC announced its acquisition of certain assets of Partek Ski Lifts, effective January 22, 2005. The acquisition includes the design and manufacturing rights of Partek lift systems, as well as Partek's rights to the older Borvig lift systems. Specifically excluded are Partek's proprietary spare parts and service business for existing Partek and Borvig Lifts.

Partek president, Hagen Schulz, will set up shop as Ski Lift Parts, Inc. and will also join the Doppelmayr CTEC team as a sales consultant.

Schulz said of the deal, "It was becoming economically challenging to manufacture and sell new lifts without a complete product line which would have included developing a detachable grip lift..The cost to develop a detachable product would have imposed a significant financial risk to Partek when the ski lift market has little opportunity for growth. The high cost of liability insurance made doing business producing new lifts additionally prohibitive."

Kinda sad that they are gone so fast.

Dang, that really sucks. I hope Hagen pops up on here on the forum again to tell us more. But I guess if Partek didn't want to take the risk of developing a detachable grip and there wasn't the demand that partek wanted for its hsq design, it would have been a bad choice.

However, Partek should have just gone with someone elses detachable grip system. Kind of like how CTEC used Garaventa's to design its first HSQ. But then again if there are only two lift manufacturers left in world that make HSQs, it's going to be kind of hard to get a detachable grip too. Oh I know, Partek could have contacted M-Latta and had some Type 7's made. :)
