I wonder what will be done with the excess chairs.

They are selling them to winners of a lottery on their website.

I guess the earliest anyone will be able to get up to Vail to see how Avanti construction is progressing is once Gondola One opens for summer operations.

one could easily walk, hike, or bike up the mountain, or simply drive up into one of the neighborhoods on the north side of the highway to see how Chair 2 is progressing along

The only thing that is kind of a bummer about Loveland's lottery is the "winner" must fork over $400 to pick up their chair.

Powderhorn's web cam shows Take Four's chairs have been removed and heavy equipment is in place to begin dismantling the terminal. After the haul rope is spooled up, of course. I did not see where the chairs are being stored, maybe they are near the top station or maybe they are getting new chairs.

And the PCMR blog has a few pictures of flying out the old Motherlode towers, pouring concrete for the new ones, and demolishing the Snow Hut from a few days ago

Looks like PCMR is going for a new paint job on the PCMR-PCMR section, which might bring the terminals on that side closer to the orange that is used on the Canyons side. A recent video on PCMR's Facebook page shows a repainted Crescent lift (link for those who have a Facebook account: https://www.facebook...53014788489226/). It looks like it's a similar shade when I compare it to Iron Mountain or Orange Bubble or Super Condor.

Anywhere else have bright red lifts anywhere? Glad they're keeping the red-black-white theme at PCMR. If you look at the webcam, Payday and First Time are still white - assume they wouldn't do Crescent without doing all of them, or at least all the ones you can see from the base area

Edit: after a flip through the webcams, the top of Crescent is also red, but that's the only one. You can see the base of Silverlode in the distance from the Crescent summit webcam, which might be fun for us to watch later in the summer when they start the gondola (which doesn't appear to have been started yet - I can't see anything but the clearing around the base area and the demolished Snow Hut site)

Grainy cell phone shot taken by my brother in the PCMR parking lot today. Not sure which of the 3 these are for. See in the background that First Time has been painted red too

I'd think the parts in the first photo might be for King Con or for the Interconnect.

In the latest photo update, it looks like they might reuse tower tubes on one of the lifts. There's a photo of a lift line of just tower tubes, either of Motherlode or of King Con.

Those are King Con tower tubes being reused. Motherlode's towers were flown out a few weeks ago, and they flew concrete up there too.

I'm going to take a guess in the second photo that the Interconnect's terminal is where the backhoe is located. The foundation up and left from Silverlode in this picture is the foundation for the restaurant being built there (is it a restaurant?).

Yes, they're rebuilding the old Snow Hut restaurant on that spot, looks like it's a biggger footprint lined up differently farther down the hill. Hard to tell where the gondola base will be - there isn't much room down there. It looks like they've moved quite a bit of dirt around already. That area is laid out really awkwardly now, which is bad because it's the most crowded spot on either of the two mountains. It looks like they're filling in the gully at the bottom of King Con run (where before you had to go down and back up to get to Silverlode, and the Silverlode line would often extend all the way back to the Snow Hut ski racks.

Has anyone seen if they've done anything else on the gondola so far? A little surprised we can't see anything there yet

Back to Colorado, turns out Vail has at least one Twitter feed that is documenting the construction of the Avanti Express lift. They've posted a few photos, like this one from a few weeks ago during disassembly of the quad:

And once demolition was complete save for two columns:

Based on that photo, the lift operator's shack is still there. Don't know if they'll be reusing it on the new lift.

Here's what appears to be either tower 10 or tower 16 waiting to be taken down:

Here are parts for the Avanti Express lift sitting in a staging area near the bottom of the Northwoods Express lift:

Here's what appears to be part of one of the bullwheels:
