Mission Ridge HSQ Pictures

The HSQ that Mission Ridge bought was from Winter Park and not White Pass.

As for the price, I didn't feel like asking Craig that since that's personal information. The entire project though with snow making and the new lift is supposed to cost $2.5 million.

yeah, in Washington the first ski area i think of is White Pass when using WP as initials, i totally meant winter park

Cut the old towerheads off, grind them flush with the tube and paint them. Now that they're out of the way, don't worry about them and weld the new caps to the top of the tube. Or in this case, weld the attachment plate to the top of the tube and then bolt the caps on as per usual. We did that at Baker on the Chair 2 modification.

So, I got myself a new camera a few months ago. Recently, I took it on a trial run at Mission Ridge. I got a ride-up video of the Big L. It's far from perfect, admittedly, far from anything Donald or NHSkier have done, but it's here. I'm still trying to figure out a good way to hold my camera on the lifts (Any Suggestions?), but for now, a virtual ride is here.

There are some things I hope they replace on the Big L, and the carriers are one of them. The Arceaux 1 is probably my single least favorite carrier design. I would also, for the record, like to see the cadence chain at the bottom replaced by a tire turn-around and the lift converted to 90 degree loading; the maze is set up perfectly for it, as well as some of the older computer systems and sensors replaced, and a new, larger parking rail.

Wouldn't they just want to cut the middle footrest off/all of them off? Never rode the kind with three footrest holder bar thingies, but I can imagine it must be a little uncomfortable.

The three prongs of the Footrest come down in between the parts of the seat. It's alright, as long as everyone sits where they should. I don't like it, though.

Falcon lift at Breckenridge had this type of footrests when it was originally built. It didn't take them long to replace them with the two pronged footrests, then, eventually the chairs were replaced. Hi/Lo at Mary Jane still has the three pronged though and the tourists always insist on lowering them. Those not sitting where they should on the chair are punished. :-)

...and those sitting on the end only get to put one ski on the footrest or have their snowboard keep slipping off unexpectedly.

Since the original Colorado SuperChair was built around the same time as the Falcon SuperChair, remind me, did its original Arceaux chairs come with those three-prong footrests as well and then get replaced with two-prong footrests? Or did it have two-prong footrests from day 1?

Original Colorado was built the year after they changed from 3 prong to 2 prong. The chairs improved also and were much more comfortable. Falcon went in in 1985 and Colorado in 1986.
