I notice they're using detachable instead of fixed grips, like Snowmass's pulse gondi goes.

Why would they use detachable grips on a pulse gondola?

The Pulse grips like those on Glenwood Caverns and Wildhorse at Steamboat are special order, long lead time items= Expensive. The detachable grip is a common production item and therefore easier to obtain.
And all the grip does is hold the cabin to the haul rope so it doesn't matter if it is a fixed grip or a detachable grip.
