9907' = 203 chairs = lots of things to look at here in a few weeks (midseason inspections).

I'm kind of a geek in this manner, for the longest time I was trying to see if there was a detachable lift with more than 200 chairs. Riva Bahn at Vail came really close with about 190, along with the old Centennial lift at Beaver Creek.

I swear that American Flyer only had like 196 or so chairs last season. Don't remember the exact amount but I'm sure it was less than 200.

Believe me...lift mech knows each and every one of those carriers intimately!

Defunct. Replaced by Gondola One in 2013. It had more carriers than I do because it stuffed more in each terminal.

The recently removed Adirondack Express high speed triple at Gore Mountain was 7,100 feet long with 217 chairs and 28 towers. It was getting old (installed in 1984), replacement parts were hard to obtain, and it was getting unreliable, so they removed it in spring of 2014 and installed a Poma HSQ in its place for this season. The new HSQ has a capacity of 2,400 pph upgraded from 2,100 pph and a speed of 1,100 fpm upgraded from 875 fpm. It has 20 towers and 139 chairs.

They Removed THAT many chairs and STILL increased their uphill capacity?! I find that very hard to believe unless they re-aligned it.

Speed is a huge factor in the equation too.

Keep in mind that the original lift was a triple, and it was replaced with a quad.

I do wonder what the record for most carriers on each kind of lift (in the US) is: for high speed six pack, high speed quad, fixed grip quad, triple, and double chairlifts.

For six packs, I think the Village Express or Super Bee would be my first guesses.

For high speed quads, Mt. Bachelor's Northwest Express.

For the rest, I don't know.

I think I once read somewhere that when built, the Beaver Run SuperChair had 219 chairs. But Breck reduced the chair number to the current total of 186 because such close chair spacing led to regular misloads.

Legends at Purgatory has 224 chairs,a Poma fixed grip triple. (http://www.remontees...rtage-5205.html) Whistler Village Gondola had 154 cabins but I'm not sure if that changed with the cabin replacement this year. New Centennial Chondola at Beaver Creek has 150 total carriers, 25 cabins and 125 chairs.

The bubble chair at The Canyons has north of 180 chairs, each with heated seats and automatic bubbles and orange cushions and full indoor automatic chair parking and a midstation. Does anyone know how much it cost to put up?

Both Town Lift and Pioneer at PCMR have over 200 chairs too - mid 80s CTEC triples.
