With pictures of what it looks like (taken off the Grand Lodge on Peak 7's Facebook page):

Attachement Beaver Run SuperChair with new chairs.jpg

It's kinda wierd seeing new chairs on the same line as older towers.

Going back to the pics of the new "High Campbell" lift comments- It looked like they used the CTEC chairs on the "Little Beaver" triple chairs in Utah when they built it a couple years ago. Maybe they (the chairs on High Campbell) will look better with chair pads on them. The chairs look narrow, like it would be difficult to fit two people on them unless they were very skinny. Maybe they just look that way in pictures.

I think you get used to it over time. Remember, the Beaver Run SuperChair is not the only high speed quad at Breck to have its chairs replaced with new ones. The Falcon SuperChair on Peak 10 was opened in 1986 with the Arceaux chairs (like the ones on the Pioneer Express or American Flyer), and maybe a year or so after the Peak 8 SuperConnect opened in 2002, the Falcon SuperChair's Arceaux chairs were replaced with Omega chairs. So for ten years, the Falcon SuperChair has been a 1985 Poma high speed quad with 2003 chairs.

It only feels weird for the Beaver Run SuperChair because it had the Competition chairs for 24 years. I had the same feeling when the original Colorado SuperChair quad's Arceaux chairs were replaced in 2012 with Omega chairs (those, funnily enough are the Omega chairs that ended up being transferred to the Beaver Run SuperChair this year with the Colorado SuperChair upgrade at Peak 8). It doesn't feel weird with the Falcon SuperChair because the lift has had Omega chairs for long enough that your mind is so accustomed to them that you feel like they're the chairs you've known the whole time (funnily enough, here's one of the few pictures I can find of the Falcon SuperChair with its original chairs: Posted Image ).

Plus there are all those former Lift Engineering high speed quads that were retrofitted by Doppelmayr or Poma to varying lengths.

Either pads, though they might have slatted backrests if wind is an issue on the ridge High Campbell ends on.

Wind is definitely an issue there. I sat on wind hold a fair amount when I operated it.

Got a chance to go to Beaver Creek this weekend for the World Cup GS (Ted shreds) and to see the new combination lift, it is up and running and has greatly reduced lines. I didn't wait in a line all day while the old quad was plagued by lines at the same time last year. There is a cabin parking station at the top station on the right and 1 gondola cabin for every 5 chairs, also the first use of CWA Omega 10 passenger gondola cabins in North America. By the way, the stadium built for the 2015 World Alpine Ski Championships is really cool and the snow is best at Beaver Creek in Rose Bowl. Sorry about the poor quality.

I got to ride in the new cabins at stratton this past weekend. They were SO much better. My complaints are that it stops much more often and that if you sitnext to the door, your leg gets pulled under the seat by the mecinism. The new covering at the top is very nice but it is dark and needs lighting. Parts of the terminal ceeling were replaced with the LPOA wood. Sorry for no pics. :0

I can imagine my mother reminding me that when she was a kid she had to use the dreaded mitten ripper/rope tow. And now this lift shows up.

Yeah, the seats are heated.

Well to be OCD technical, 153 new-used chairs moved from Colorado to Beaver Run. I believe that 33 new-new chairs were added to get the full complement on line.

Confirmed, there are currently 186 chairs on the Beaver Run. You can see that chairs 154-186 are brand-new looking when compared to the older chairs. There is also a 3 comm line.

Couldn't determine where was best to put this, but I only noticed today that some tower heads from the original Colorado SuperChair are being stored on the mountain a short distance from the Vista Haus and the top of the current Colorado SuperChair:

I'm actually starting really late this year for skiing, but tomorrow I will be heading over to Sunapee and get some good images of the new Sunbowl, as well as some more updated images of the other lifts there.

I have them downloaded to my laptop now:
Before = Left After = Right
About to cross over the stream :

Number of downloads: 97Attached File  SUNBOWL EXPRESS.jpg (295.38K)

Looking at the Bottom Station :

(The 'after' picture was taken with a GoPro so it's a bit distorted)
Entering the Top Station :
Attached File  Sun Bowl Quad Top Station (3).JPG (305.58K)
Number of downloads: 100Attached File  SUNBOWL EXPRESS TOP.jpg (332.96K)
Number of downloads: 98

Some other pics:
Attached File  SUNBOWL EXPRESS TOP 2.jpg (173.11K)
Number of downloads: 95
Attached File  SUNBOWL EXPRESS LINE 2.jpg (225.76K)
Number of downloads: 91
Attached File  SUNBOWL EXPRESS LINE.jpg (228.19K)
Number of downloads: 86
Attached File  SUNBOWL EXPRESS CHAIR.jpg (204.52K)
Number of downloads: 67

Two obvious things I noticed:
1. The lift now runs counterclockwise, the old one ran clockwise.
2. The towers were renumbered, most likely because the old bottom station had the first depression assembly built into the terminal. The new one has a depression assembly situated on a tower just outside of the terminal.

I also noticed that just after you cross the stream that there is a tower footing on the ground. I compared images, and it does not appear to add up. But I still wonder if that belonged to the Sunbowl Double, or something else?
