Didn't you guys get some parts from old 6 for some of your lifts?

You'll find those parts on A-51 this winter if you are interested. Sheave assemblies.

Made it up to Beaver Creek yesterday and saw the progress on the new lift, they were finishing the cable splice when I was there.

While back in the Midwest for a wedding, I swung down to Granite Peak. Top (drive) terminal appears to be nearly complete, towers are standing, and looks like concrete for the return isn't far from going down. Chairs, hangers, and terminal components are in the parking lot waiting.

The chairs for the Colorado SuperChair have arrived and they appear to be sitting next to Lift 5 waiting for assembly.
They also look to be the same LPA chairs that the Kensho SuperChair has.

Looks like they've started putting chairs on the Colorado SuperChair. They probably will look just like the Kensho SuperChair's chairs, the difference being that they'll have trail maps on their safety bars.

Donald, they are not called Safety Bars. They are Comfort Bars. :)

Well, as of this post there are three chairs sitting on the rail at the bottom terminal. Doesn't look like the bar maps have been installed quite yet, but they will be added prior to opening day.

Also, it appears the sign on the board in front of the shared lift shack for the Colorado SuperChair and Rocky Mountain SuperChair has been replaced, as you compare that webcam picture with this one from about a month ago.

I checked out the new lifts at Crystal today. First Chair 6. It's not a whole lot different than the old one...most of the footings were reused and there are 13 towers instead of 14. The lattice tower and the "portal" tower have been replaced with normal tubes. Note in the first photo there is still a bunch of snow leftover from the March avalanche that took out the original. Also there are 3 shiny new Gazex exploders in Powder Bowl (although none are on the avalanche path that took out the lift.)

And the "new" Quicksilver. The Deer Valley green is gone from the towers and they are galvanized like all of Crystal's newer lifts. A lot of grading has been done and the lift line is completely new. It is quite a bit shorter than the old Chair 4. I think this lift will continue to be underutilized since it still starts in the middle of nowhere rather than down in the base area.

Are those new towers for Quicksilver? I thought the new HSQ at Deer Valley reused the tower tubes from the old lift (leading to some ground clearance issues that got fixed the next summer)

Mountaineer Express got all new towers when it was built so these are probably the towers from Deer Crest. There might be a few new ones since Quicksilver has 2 more towers than Deer Crest did.

I just got word somewhere the Colorado SuperChair's official tower and chair numbers, for comparison with the old are: 20 towers and 132 chairs, which compares with 21 towers and 153 chairs.

Did SkyTrac buy the patents for the old CTEC line gear? Towerheads and sheave trains look just like the pre-merger CTEC designs

I think all of the design patents have expired for the parts in question, but, there are also a number of refinements (changes) in every part design used by SkyTrac making their parts different from the old CTEC & D-CTEC ones.
