New Lift Construction Photos 2014

vons's Photo vons 17 Sep 2014

Donald

The loading belts are manufactured by Chair kid, (I think Emmigi is bankrupt or has no US distribution), so all the lift manufacturers uses the same loading belts for their lifts

Emmigi belts are orange colored otherwise the same, they also built the only unloading belt sold in the US.

Colorado SuperChair from Breck's Facebook page. Looks like this will be the first LPA terminal with a vault drive?

Negative, that vault is from the old Colorado lift. The new lift will have the motor and gearbox in the terminal. The vault will be converted to a shop/storage for Lift Maintenance.

Finally photos of the Colorado SuperChair's upper terminal. I was wondering how that was progressing since the bottom terminal is basically complete and they appear to be working on the loading carpet now.

So what used to be the motor room is now a storage area for lift repair parts. Doesn't the American Flyer lift have something like that?

Yes, Flyer has the same exact terminal as the old Colorado Super chair.

....except it still has all the drive equipment as well. I keep parts and tools in there, and have a workbench, but it's an operating motor room first.

They've done quite a few installs in the past few years, no?

I see some OLD Snowstream 3 snow guns there. Wowza!

I think so, it will probably be used for parts on the other CLD-260's at Vail Resorts but the chairs could be used on a new lift at one of the Midwest resorts, the chairs from Vista Bahn and Mountaintop were used on the two new lifts at Mt. Brighton last summer.

Old lifts don't die, they get recycled.

Yes, they do - and when they do, they need up-to-date electrics. This is what floats my boat.

Hopefully none of VRs old HSQs end up in the midwest at one if its resorts here...the terminals on those old Dopps are half the length of the entire hill!
