Thanks for posting the vids, Bud. What ended up happening to the old lift? Please keep us posted with daily progress if time allows.

Top terminal.

Not construction of a new lift but close enough. Alongside replacing the original cabins, Stratton mtn is also replacing the gondola's original haul rope. Here are some pics from their facebook page of the new rope arriving.

If it isn't immediately obvious, this photo is of the truck getting stuck as the long trailer couldn't handle the abrupt change of pitch.

There are plenty more on Stratton's facebook page.

I think tower 1 of the Colorado SuperChair has been installed and they are now building the bottom terminal.

I was up at Beaver Creek yesterday and got some pictures of the progress on the new Centennial lift. The towers are all in place as well as the terminal machinery and some sheaves. The first five towers are hold down, hold down, tension, compression, tension.

They've been assembling the Colorado SuperChair's bottom terminal today. It's hard to tell, but it looks like the lift has the same wood frame siding that the Kensho SuperChair has.

What's a 'tension' tower? I'm aware of three types-- hold-down (compression), support, and combination....

Does look that way. Which makes me wonder where the green-painted terminal I saw in Frisco last week was headed.

I have proof that yes, the Colorado SuperChair has the same wood-frame siding that the Kensho SuperChair has:

Here's the Kensho SuperChair:

My only complaint is now that the resort really needs to reskin the bottom terminal of the Rocky Mountain SuperChair to match, and give it a makeover so that its terminals look like the ones on the Paradise Express lift. Or rather, do that to every superchair on the mountain save for the Beaver Run SuperChair.

Maybe if the Rocky Mountain lift looks like an older chair, it will divert much of the skier traffic to the new 6 pack. The veteran skiers and riders will be able to ride up Rocky and the T-Bar before the tourists are able to sit down on the new CO chair. Oh the advantages :-) Thanks for the updates. It is always exciting watching these things go in each summer.

I have been watching the Breezeway and Elma projects also via Facebook however not much progress in the way of steel as of yet.

It's a support tower, so the first couple are hold down, hold tower, support, combination, support. Sorry about that.

I think the wood trim is more noticeable when the sun shines directly on it.
