This Thiokol center-pole double first opened on December 26, 1969, one of the first two lifts at a newly established resort. It was the resort's main lift, going from the base area all the way to the summit. The lift in question also had a midway unloading area. In 1996, a HSQ was built parallel to the lift. The lift served as a backup for a couple seasons after the HSQ was built, then it was removed. What lift am I referring to?

Thiokol built 44 lifts between 1971 and 1977. You sure it's not a hall?

According to Skilifts.org, it's a Thiokol, and according to the resort's timeline, it opened in '69. It's a center-pole and, looking at Lift remains, I don't think its a Riblet.

Grand Targhee, Bannock?

On the chairlift survey page for 1969 it's listed as a Hall but on the skilifts.org Grand Targhee page it's listed as a Thiokol

I was going to say Bannock as well. I'm no expert but from the one picture on this site, the tower looks Thiokol. Maybe there was a retrofit at some point?

I believe it was Hall and it lives on as Saddle Mountain at Lost Trail Powder Mountain.

I've noted that Hall Towers and Thiokol/early CTEC towers look very similar. I'm fairly positive it's a Hall. I believe the first Thiokol lift was the Sundown lift installed at Powder Mountain in 1971. Still there today I think. Been awhile since I've been back to my old stomping grounds of Ogden Valley.

The only reason I thought it might be Thiokol was that it had a ladder and from another forum I remember someone said their Hall's didn't have any. Although whoever pointed out the time inconsistency is right, it can't be a Thiokol. Lazy research on my part and I apologize for that.
