Is it a quad or six pack? A post sometime ago suggested a six pack.

Yes it is. It will most likely be an LP. It will be about 7,100 feet long with 1,500 vertical and according to the article, will have a max design speed of 1,100 fpm. They said it is 38% faster than the high speed triple it is replacing, and it ran at 800 fpm, so 38% more is about 1,100 fpm. I have no clue whether it will be a top or bottom drive and I won't figure that out until I see construction photos. The high speed triple is a bottom drive.

Not that it is always right, but skiresort.info has this one as a Dopp.

Aspen Snowmass is replacing the fixed grip High Alpine with a new Leitner Poma detachable quad.

I can't find a source where Snowmass has announced the High Alpine replacement. Facebook page, perhaps?

Funnily, I floated the notion that High Alpine needed a replacement on another thread a few weeks ago.

I'm sure that this is a Poma. Their gondola and other high speed quad are. They do not have a single Doppelmayr lift although they have a couple CTEC's.

All depends on the bid. That's why I didn't proclaim it will be a Dopp. Gore does announce bids so I will be interested to see how much cheaper the winner's bid was.

Even if there is a bid, some resorts have loyalty to buy lifts from one manufacturer. That's why every Breckenridge lift built since 1984 has been a Poma or Leitner-Poma lift. I guess lowest bid would also explain why Doppelmayr built the Mountaintop Express lift this year while Leitner-Poma did Gondola One last year.

Breaking news! I just was on Hidden Valley's (Missouri) website to check if there was any snow left visible on the webcams, and there is some in the tubing park that should make it to May (probably a first).

Anyway, they just announced 50 minutes ago that they are adding a Riblet double or triple for a beginner lift, but are still unsure of the location. They have pictures of unloading the lift, yet I guess they couldn't figure if it's a double or triple. Also, a rope tow will be installed in the intermediate terrain park.

Gore went to LP...also in regards to the list. Most employees I have spoke with at Mt. Bachelor feel that a new lift will not be happening this year for them

Here's another one...Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort is replacing the Chair 2 double with a Dopelmayr quad.

So is Brian Head. Chair #2 as well.

Everything is now perfectly clear that it is a double. I guess they finally figured out the inconsistency between the graphics and the text. There are more photos of it arriving on HV's Facebook page.

Anyone know where this lift came from?

Looks like a fairly late-model lift, by the bullwheel, and the motor room is the same green used by countless ski areas so it could be any number of lifts.

I saw this article about the High Alpine Lift at Snowmass on the Aspen Times website. (http://www.aspentime.../NEWS/130409989) It says that the lift had a worn bullwheel bearing last year so maybe that was a factor in the decision to replace it, although I haven't seen anything official yet from Aspen.

I confirmed one of Cherry Peak's new lifts is Crystal Chair from Blackcomb (Yan triple)

Also I believe Brian Head's high speed quad is Wildwood Express from Tamarack. Not sure if Brian Head bought it 2 years ago at auction or if it was sold to them by whomever won it (maybe Doppelmayr?)

It will be easy to tell if it is since Wildwood was a UNI-GS. Where is that other triple at Cherry from?

That's the 3rd time you've asked in this thread, I don't think anyone here knows.

My apologies about the Cherry Triple. Emax, what is happening to #2? Is it being used for spare parts?

Below is an updated list. This might be the first year since the Doppelmayr-CTEC merger in 2002 that someone else builds more lifts.

I'm sad to see this old Riblet double go. But she served the area well and for many years.
