I like that SkyTrac is American-owned. Not that there's anything wrong with the European manufacturers, but it's always nice to have an American company offering a good product.

I don't know if there is foreign ownership that goes along with it but SkyTrac is very close with BMF from Switzerland, which is neither here nor there but just saying they do have foreign ties...

The French skilift forum was joking abut the carriers because numerous companies in europe have used a similar design in the past with GMM still using it.

Wasn't Sky Trac working on bringing detachable technology to the table for the USA? Is that still in the works, to anyone's knowledge?

They are working on a economical detachable quad & six-pack product for North America and they also have exclusive distribution rights for the BMF product line in North America.

When these new lifts launch they will be a boon to longer, larger Midwest areas that need HS lift tech but can't afford / can't justify paying for a detach at current pricing.

Gore, NY seems to be in the market for a new fixed grip lift to replace their High Peaks Double. I wonder if they will use SkyTrac since as said elsewhere on this site, they can do fixed grip installations cheaper than Doppelmayr and Poma can. Gore is state run and has limited funds, so doing a lift installation cheaper would be good. For that reason, SkyTrac may be a better choice than Doppelmayr, or Poma and I think that there is a good chance that SkyTrac gets the business.

They are. Shawnee Peak, Maine is getting one this summer. They built one last year at Alpine Valley, Ohio.

I don't know how they compare in price, but I live in downstate NY, and Partek is based one town over from where I live. For that reason, they are quite common in downstate, NY, NJ, and PA. I am quite used to seeing them, so I don't give it a second thought, but they are so rare everywhere else. Mountain Creek, NJ got a Partek for the 2012 2013 season. They also have one that they got during the Mountain Creek rebrand from Vernon Valley Great Gorge. They also have a Borvig left over from the VVGG days. They are only about 15 minutes from Partek's (formerly Borvig's) headquarters, so the only reason they used Doppelmayr was so they could get detaches. The only Doppelmayr fixed grip they have is the Granite Peak Quad, which is designed to be converted to detachable. Shawnee, PA is all Partek, except for their Doppelmayr HSQ. Camelback, PA is all Borvig/Partek, except that one of their triples has Riblet carriers, and their two Doppelmayr HSQ's.
