I wonder if the new towers blend in aesthetically to match the towers on the existing Doppelmayr high speed quads.

Every person who would notice they don't match (or care!) is probably a member of this forum.

...or the existing CTEC Towers....or the existing POMA towers...or....
I'm sure they blend in perfectly- after all, they are Vail Resorts specified and approved.

Never mind. Aesthetic appearance was what I was going for. Don't know if the 1994-2011 style towers on High Noon match that one's LPA terminals compared to the 2012 gondola's tower heads to a similar terminal structure.

Looks like they didn't like the orange chairs. Overall the lift looks good- very aesthetically pleasing  Don't forget to send some of that snow to CO.

Drove by Vail yesterday to-and-from Snowmass. Cabins on the up line in the AM and full line in the PM. Was going to stop and take some photos, but the project in Snowmass went longer than we expected and I still had a 2 hour drive to get home.
Grand opening on Nov. 16 is on schedule.

from this ...

photo taken Aug 26,2012, but I was there the first week of September and nothing had been started then either because this same Leitner Poma crew was still onsite at Devil's Glen, Glen Huron Ont installing an LP fixed grip Quad at that location.

Well done guys, even if it is really short lift.

I spoke to a City of Toronto employee onsite who was operating the snow making valve (for barrel filling) and he said that the green lift (double chair) in the 3rd photo is staying. It got a new lower bullwheel this fall and the lift is going back into service. Does your beginner hill have this much up hill capacity?

Nice-looking lift. Poma has done really well with that Alpha terminal-- why change the design when it works?

Our beginner hill does not have this much uphill capacity  but it should.

The new Mountaineer Express at Deer Valley. Replacing the Deer Crest fixed quad, this is a huge improvement. It's DV's first and only Uni-G, with Doppelmayr chairs and Austrian controls. It looks like they reused the tower tubes and footings, but reinstalled them with new Doppeltec ladders and towerheads. The Uni-G sure looks sharp. They also lowered the top section, which is very exposed. Today was really windy, and they had it running half speed. It'll probably be no more than a 4 minute ride on full speed.

Doesn't look like they've got a great deal of snow either.

With DV installing their first UNI-G amongst a bevy of UNI-GSs, does this mean the UNI-GS is dead?

The last one was built in 2010, so that's probably a safe bet. With this year's installations, the last of the CTEC stuff seems to be gone. No CTEC or Garaventa "Vail" chairs, only Doppelmayr EJ chairs this year. All of the fixed grip terminals are Eco's or have the Uni-G styling. The Sprint, Uni-Star, Galaxy, etc. seem to be gone.
