VICE PRESIDENT – MAINTENANCE & OPERATIONS


Marmot Basin ski area, in Jasper National Park Alberta, is seeking an individual with strong leadership skills and senior management experience to lead the maintenance and operations team. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, this position is responsible for the management and operation of all ski lifts, buildings and vehicles, including financial management and budgeting, planning of all maintenance work, establishing time lines for off season preventative maintenance and code related requirements. Responsibilities also include supervision and maintenance of power, water, sewage lagoons and maintenance of snowmaking equipment and pumps as well as the operation of vehicle maintenance including snow groomers, snow mobiles, highway vehicles, off road vehicles, ATV’s and construction equipment. The VP of Maintenance and Operations will assist the President in day-to-day operations, long-range development and other projects as directed and is also responsible for all aspects of risk management at the ski area.

Qualifications / experience
  • Previous experience in a managerial (senior) position
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ski area experience
    • day to day ski area operations
    • ski area maintenance
    • developing mountain concepts and construction
    • ski area insurance and risk management

How do work visas work in Canada, is an american eligible for this position

Depends on the applicants qualifications and if any Canadians apply that match their criteria. It is a process to get an Int. applicant a visa, usually taking 6 months or more..then the Gov't may deny it.
