Stakes are in the ground for tower locations and deconstruction starts in less than three weeks....

Have you guys figured out any plans for where the old lift is off to? Another location? Another resort? Hopefully not the scrapyard?

Just wondering...

I might have to come up for a "Guest Appearance" when you start taking towers out...since I was there when they were put in! :shocking:

Maybe you should! Marty and company will be doing the demo. I unfortunately have to work on the Showgirl so I don't get to participate. I'll have to sneak over there and at least take some pictures.

Erik-- I have no idea what's happening to it. I'm beginning to wonder if anyone knows. I'm 98% certain it's not going back up at Copper, but otherwise I couldn't tell you.

There has supposedly been some interest in the lift from another ski area but that is neither here nor there.

Sure is sad to see an old lift go away. Still cant believe that a Doppelmayr is replacing it!

What is the size, age and condition of the rope? And are the clips D or T?

Do you have any info on the gearbox and if they are thinking of selling it? It looks like a VKDSU1100-Yan and if so I may be interested in it.

I've been off for a few days. Still haven't heard if we're selling it as is, parting it out, or keeping it. I do know that if we're parting it out we're keeping the gearbox as we just rebuilt it last summer (yes, it is an 1100). Peter-- the grips are all 1 1/4" D (Type 1) with a few 1 3/8" thrown in for fun. About 20% of them are new, but I imagine we'd keep those as well as we have two more 1 1/4" Type D lifts. If we are parting it out, I'll definitely post what we're selling and what we'd like for it. Given the age of the lift, I'm sure many of the parts aren't worth Benjamins so much as Blue Ribbons :)

Sounds like we're selling the lift whole to a small area in the Northwest that has a latitude in its name. It'll be shorter than it is now, but we're keeping the leftovers (which will only amount to a couple dozen grips and a few assemblies).

Sounds like it will be the Angel Peak lift at 49 Degrees North, which is actually the 2nd largest ski area in Washington. Will be the first Yan in Washington.

Towers are down. Here's the demise of T-19 (of 20). All we've got left are the terminals, and I believe the bottom comes down tomorrow/Wednesday. Pictures forthcoming if it's Wednesday.
