Heron 8 Holddown Assembly

Lift Dinosaur's Photo Lift Dinosaur 04 Sep 2008

I am in contact with an area in Colorado that is looking for a Heron 8HD assembly in good condition. Components to build up to an 8HD will also work.
Beer? Cash? Comp Tickets?
PM me if you've got one in the state.

Thanks- Dino

Dino,

Years ago at JH we had trouble with the H-P hold down assemblys at the base of the Casper Lift. We took a chair downtown to Snow King and
hung it on their CTEC lift. All looked great and all we needed to do was machine off some of the outer sheave flange so the H-P grip would
clear.

So, four complete sheave-trains were ordered, complete with axles and we adapted it to fit the H-P towers. That was probably 20 years ago
and, to the best of my knowledge, all is still working fine.

Just a thought,

Carl

PS Here's a lousy image but Tower's 1 & 2 were fitted with the CTEC parts.
PPS I LOVE your Ringer Lift avatar since I grew up riding one of those!

Thanks Carl. I'll take a look at that mod and pass it on.
I didn't know that was a Ringer Chair - that's me in the photo as my first job in the Industry as a Lift Op!!!
Where did you ride yours - Holiday Hill, CA or Chewelah, WA?

Nope, I grew up riding the last Ringer built which was at Terry Peak, SD. It was installed in '53 IIRC and replaced in '67 with a Miner Denver. Here's a postcard from the "days".

The pic was taken from a USFS Fire Lookout which still sets on the 7076 ft. summit.

A Dopp Detach sets there now sans lots of the snow saving trees.......
