I've gone over this site quite a bit, most of the names sound familure but Hall, well thats one that does not ring a bell. Is it related to the Scott Hall Diesel/Gas company from the 50s through 70s? What were the lifts like, dependable? Reflections on them?

Only Riblet built more lifts than Hall, the company built 412 lifts total, many in the East but also in the West.

We have two Halls at Badger. I'd never heard of Hall until I started working there. Our mechanics like 'em better than the Yans. I'm just the opposite. And I catch hell about it! good-naturedly of course! We like to pick on each other.

As Skier said, many Hall lifts were built in the east. However, at least half of them were built in the midwest. The lifts were very inexpensive to install and that's why smaller areas in the east and midwest liked to install them. Also, the lifts were quite reliable and fairly easy to repair. Many of the Hall lifts are still in operation today. Below are some pictures of Hall lifts in Minnesota!

Yeah almost every resort in Wisconsin has had a Hall or is still running one. In my mind they're one of the most reliable lifts around.

JH had two of them on Apres Vous Mtn. Installed in '65 while the Tram was still under construction.
Both were finally replaced with Poma HSQ's....

High Campbell at Crystal which has a Riblet drive terminal, but the rest is Hall.

Not bad to work on at all... We had three of them one we also had and i do believe its still there just towers, drive, return terminals are original the oldest quad ever built.. The old AC drive has since been takin out but let me tell you slowin or speedin that puppy up was unreal... It was also said rumor or not but it was the first quad ever built like i said just a rumor but it was litterly two doubles's welded together... Some of the chairs we're sold off and the rest of the line sits in a hole from what i hear... Well i do know where but it's a shame... Well yes that is the exact chair im talkin about!!! Thats my old hill WOW weird to see... Im almost positive thats a hall chair??? Yeah pretty dam positive but if anyone has any more info on that particular lift please add on... Now that i think of it the drive terminal was different then the rest of the lift's but it was the "rumor" that it was one of the first's.. No im sure its a hall...

I don't think Hall has any centerpole quads?

That's an early Borvig quad design.

The chair in the pic you think is a Hall quad isn't the chair styles look very similar, but aren't. The only real sure-fire way to convince you is that the bullwheels on all Borvigs have that "snowflake" spoke pattern, plus the towers are usually square on Borvigs. The cross arms on the towers are shaped differently as well. Also, all the Hall lifts that I've seen (lots here in the east) have the "Hall" logo cast into the carrier arms at the grip like this: (middle of image)

Sold... Dave either you know Hagen's yourself or you just have been in this business way to long... LOL .. It was a Borvig, the towers the same, and chairs the same but the drive terminal and the top terminal were totally different then any in your pic's... The top terminal was an almost exact copy of the hall's we had on the hill??? Its been some time since i worked there and i cant remember what the bullwheel looked like... Thanks for the clear up Dave... That is a lift built before my time.....
