Our Cars

I think we had this thread awhile back but I couldn't find it so everyone show us your cars.
Here is my new 1983 300D Turbo Diesel. Its running a 3 litre 5 cylinder diesel and will be running on SVO shortly. It has 224,000 on the clock with a new transmission 11,000 ago. Interior is perfect and there is only a small bend on my right front fender and the grill is missing a few pieces. Yesterday I drove 60 miles and the fuel gauge is still on full.

Nice. With the old California blue plate to complete the package. My grampa used to have a car like that when I was little, I don't really remember it though. Now he's downgraded to the 95 Ford conversion van. He might give it to me, it's got over 100,000 on the ticker and he wants a new one. I don't know if I want it, but we'll see
Won't be too long for me, I get my license in October :D

This topic couldn't have come at a more timely moment. I just got my new car on wednesday. It's my grad present, and a pretty nice one at that. She's a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire, with a 2.2 L engine and 115 Hp. I took her into my posetion from my parents at a freakish 111141 Km on the odometer. She's in pretty good condition with only one minor dent and cracked rear bumper (that's what -40 does to you). This is the car i learnt to drive on so it's pretty natural to drive though now i can personalise it or just manage to keep it clean. The only drawback to having a car is i pay exuberent insurance premiums. Something close to $1900 a year or about $5 dollars a day. She's a city car so i can get about 10km/L on her which is reaasonable as my school is about 10 km away.
A photo, i'm sure you have all seen a sunfire before (I once counted 10 in the stretch of a kilometer)

Nice car. Today I tried to race my friends 86 Cabriolet but I lost horribly. I think I started in second. I will be calculating my gas milleage in about a week or 2 but im expecting around 25 miles to the gallon. Tyler my car appears to be quite popular in flordia according to ebay. A lot of nice ones out there.

I just purchased a beat-up '93 Chevrolet Cavalier (same car but slightly older model as Edmontonguy's Sunfire) with 188,000 miles on it. It's missing a few parts (like a back seat) but it gets around 26 MPG so it's much better than the Blazer in terms of commuting. I finally sold my old Blazer (366,000 Km on it!) after around six months of sitting in the back yard, unable to move because the clutch was busted. The very next day Lizz saw it on the road... Nice to see it moving again; almost makes me wish I'd kept it except for that very high reading on the odometer.

We have a 2001 Ford F-150 with the 5.4 L engine, and it has 96,000 kilometers on it. Hey Zack, I think I have found your throttle linkage.

Here it is. The previous owner removed the back seat and cut out the seat support; now you can shove 8' pieces of lumber straight through from the trunk. I can fit more lumber in there than in the Blazer

sweet!
I filled up my tank today. I went 351.4 miles and got 23.8 miles to the gallon. Not too bad but once I get my valves adjusted and engine purged and injectors cleaned it should be more like 25-28 mpg. Diesel is still more then regular gas but still less than mid-grade.

How much is gas around where everyone lives? Here it was pretty cheap compared to the rest of the country until last summer, when it shot up to over $2.00 a gallon. Now it's around $2.25 for regular

in PA its about $2.35/gal for regular. In NJ, its about $2.10/gal for regular.

lucky. $2.53 is the lowest I've seen in a month. Diesel is between $2.55 to $2.85.

I filled up yesterday and I paid $2.57 for regular, midgrade was $2.69 and Super was $2.79. :( I kills me to put over $40.00 in the tank at each fill-up.
