Random lift photos number five

liftmech's Photo liftmech 29 Aug 2004

While looking through my parents' photo stash, I came across several (okay, several dozen) that I removed and am in the process of scanning in. The first is one I've been looking for for a long time- the bottom of the old Midway Shuttle or C-11 at Crystal. As far as I know, it may be Poma's only terminal of this design in the US. I haven't heard of or seen any others, at least. Anyone else know of any? I believe it was called the Gamma, but I'm not sure.

My dad or my brother took this in 1996 while skiing at Alta. It shows the Albion lift and the one that's now a detachable; I'm not sure what it was called. Help, Erik or Altaskier?

According to my old '85-86 Alta trail map the lift beside Albion is called Sunnyside.

That would be what's now a detachable triple, then. Thanks.

Yeah thats Sunnyside and that picture must have been taken from the Albion Grill. Looked like a good day skiing never the less.

Its funny cause thats the first ramp to a lift I ever had to climb up and I didn't like it much as a kid so whenever I had to get up I just took Albion instead.

Yeah- Pa told me the locals were complaining that the snow was too heavy, but being from Washington, he thought it was great!

I just thought this was a nice pic. It's the Cypress Mountain Sky Chair, a classic Mueller, with a beutiful shot of Vancuver's downtown core in the background.

Is that from the old Yan detachable there, or somewhere else (like LL)?

Those Yan HSQ shacks have lived on for all sorts of useful purposes
Doesn't Whistler have the same thing with a Yan shack as a racing hut?

I think it's from the old Yan detach they had just modified.
Also they make stylish racing huts

They make stylish lift shacks too, but there arent too many left

Sierra has a bunch left. They look kinda wierd but they went well with all the other yan stuff. Sierra also has one deep in their boneyard full of sheaves and cables and other crap from their old yans. I still want to see if i can find one of the grips but I doubt Ill find one.

If those nice looking shacks were meant for the Yan HSQ's I wonder how Alta got one to put at the top of old Germania. I always that thatlift shack was the coolest design anyway I don't think it's up there any more although they could have used it as a storage shed you never know.

Maybe Alta was able to get it from DV or PCMR after their YAN HSQs were removed.

Perhaps, although you could probably order one from Carson City as an aftermarket thing.
Old shacks are everywhere as storage and racing huts. We have several scattered about the hill.
