What kind of projects are you lifties/techs involved in as we creep towards the colder months? How ready are your lifts for the 2017 season?

We're still in summer ops, bikes and tourists everywhere for another couple weeks.
Wonder if that will help that weird jerkiness you get near the bottom or is that more of an issue with the tension system?

Strung new comm line on Chair 1, working on getting it wired up, getting organized for new on-ground comm line on T-bar, still need to move clips on Chair 2. Too many wedding rentals to get it done in the summer.

Let's see... Currently in process of replacing a 4160 volt feed to one of our lifts after it failed two days after we closed. Rope replacement on our YAN in a few weeks, rope repair on our Poma around the same time. Three lift huts being replaced around the mountain. Removed a very old wood unload ramp structure and rebuilt out of dirt. Still have tower services to do on two lifts, one of which has no power. How ready are our lifts for 2017? They're not at all - yet :)

Its just the dynamics of the lift length and profile. Solar coaster is similar.

How was MSAA? Haven't been for a few years.

Rob, Allan, John, Mike, Skier691, Milehi, mech, everyone- I'm eager to hear how you guys are doing these days, what's going on on your mountains? I hope that this season is the season I can make it back to the slopes if my bad foot cooperates, but not too sure right now. Keeps swelling up bad, will make getting into a boot very tough. UGGH. I need to ski! I need the peace and quiet and serenity I experience riding up the lifts with the beautiful scenery all around and the hum of the shiv trains and bull wheel motors and yeah. Gah. You guys (and gals) don't realize how luck you are. I so miss it.

All kinds of Stuff. New capacitors in the P2P drives, adding a 4th service brake to the P2P, just put a new DCS800 drive in GE, Building a new road to GE drive as the old one on the ice finally collapsed, 3 new carpets going in. Very significant run regrading in the beginner areas on Whistler. Waiting for the Vail purchase to be completed. Thinking this will be the last year for Horstman T-bar due to glacial melt, trying to figure out what to do about it. Fun times. (oh, and it snowing)
Edited to add load tests on GE, P2P, Peak chair and Creekside gondola.

That's not good. Is summer glacier skiing going to be possible for much longer?

Where in the resort are the new carpets going to be located?

New carpets going in at Olympic station. Not sure of the future of summer skiing. It's very dependant on the snow pack and weather in the spring each year. The lift is a problem. Were looking at options.
