Thanks for sharing. When I take friends to Vail for a Tour, I (used to) start in Lionshead, drop into Game Creek and then go to Avanti Express for the 'middle of the mountain experience' followed by a trip to Northwoods and then China Bowl and head to Two Elks for a late lunch.
Now I start with Gondola 1 to Top of the Mountain and into the Back Bowls... to China Bowl...to Blue Sky Basin.
It's really a two trip tour...or you just rush yourself to really understand the enormity of Vail!
I was there on Thursday for the second tour with my friends.....

I didn't get to ski with you the day we were there but from what I experienced and heard from the locals, it was the best day in three years. I spent the whole day in the back bowls skiing knee deep snow. Thanks for having me! Awesome gondola too. I have a crush on Vail...

I'll be back there soon to get a few last chance views of the old Mountaintop Express before the high speed six pack is built. I think I'll even go up during the summer on Gondola One to see what the work is like.
