Job Title: Journeyman Electrician

Job Status: FT year round

Start Date: ASAP

Scope of Duties: Installation and maintenance or primary power distribution systems, snowmaking electrical systms, building wiring systems, and all other electrical components. Requires 5 years experience with electrical systems and journeyman classification.

1. To install and maintain a multitude of electrical systems with safety and reliability a primary concern.

2. Installation, maintenance, and emergency repair of 25,000 volt primary power distribution systems including: transformers, switch cabinets, underground high voltage cables, etc.

3. Installation and maintenance of snowmaking electrical systems including: pump motors, starters, controls, transducers, etc.

4. Installation and maintenance of building wiring systems in compliance with all national and local codes.

5. Installation and maintenance of electrical signage systems including: trail status and lift status boards, etc.

6. Installation, maintenance, and testing of fire alarm systems in ten (10) buildings.

7. Installation and maintenance of street lights and parking lot lighting, etc.

8. Installation and maintenance of phone distribution cables and mountain phones.

9. Provide temporary electrical power and lighting for special events. West Fest, International Food Festival, Trade Fair, etc.

10. Installation and maintenance of primary power, transformers, and secondary power to all lifts.

11. Installation and maintenance of lift house and motor room electrical heating and lighting.

12. Cross training and working with Lift Maintenance Electrical department so that we can help out in an emergency situation or when they are short handed.

13. Knowledge of and compliance with the standards of the National Electric Code and Copper Mountain's Safety Procedures.

Requirements:
1. Be able to fluently speak and write the English language.

2. Eyesight must be 20/20 or corrected to near 20/20 using corrective lenses. Cannot be color blind.

3. Hearing must be adequate without hearing aid. Hearing aid may be used to enhance hearing ability if hearing loss is at or above minimum requirement.

4. Be prepared and able to lift various objects weighing 40 lbs. repetitiously over an extended period (10 hour work shift), or 100 lbs. in more isolated lifting instances.

5. Be prepared and able to perform job tasks in sub-zero and high wind (50 + mph) conditions. May require working in these conditions for 2 - 4 hours at a time.

6. Be prepared and able to perform job tasks at heights exceeding 60 feet using approved positioning and fall protection equipment. This will require climbing ladders on occasion to reach those heights. May require working at these heights for 2 - 4 hours at a time due to specific job tasks.

7. Be prepared and able to stand in a relatively stationary position for extended periods (2 - 4 hours) to perform specific maintenance functions. Elevated work platforms that limit movement during standard maintenance are part of the work environment.

8. Be prepared and able to endure extended periods of equipment operation, i.e., snowmobiles and other off road vehicles. Adverse weather should be expected and operating time may be 3 - 5 hours per work shift.

9. Be prepared and able to work extended hours (10 + hours/day) in a safe manner and in all adverse working conditions.

Need to have State of Colorado Journeymen Electrical License, Electrical trade school training and education or equivalent and valid Colorado drivers license.
