Our group had a meeting with the owner of the property last night. There was basically a lot of brainstorming with no for sure's. He said that a lot of feesability and engineering needed to be done if anything was ever to occur.

Heavenly- Somebody mentioned that they had all of the parts shiped in for their gondola and simply put it together themselves. Is that true? Did it save them a lot of money doing it that way?
Telluride- Any info or pics about this people mover would be greatly appreciated.
Also, does anbyody know of a situation similar to ours anywhere in Europe?
Thanks for the help! :D

"Heavenly - somebody...."simply"...save a lot of money..." Heavenly has an in -house lift construction crew run by Gary Burch - that's the only reason to do it in-house. You don't save money - you keep knowledgeable people busy.

Yea they do! And the Squaw funi was not a Doppel-CTEC but a Garaventa-CTEC and the whole thing came from Europe (except DUMB steel) and was put together by the Swiss, with Hans Burkhardt retiring soon after!

There are several here in Ketchikan. The one main one was built by von roll I believe and is used to link a large hotel and conference center owned by a native tribe here. The others are private ones for homes and are either homebuilt or built by smaller companies. The terrain here dictates that there be lots of staircases and the funiculars help people who dont get arround as well to access homes. I will be taking pictures of some once I get my new camera and I will be posting them here.
Theres a place for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.
"You could say that a mountain is alot like a woman, once you think you know every inch of her and you're about to dip your skis into some soft, deep powder...Bam, you've got two broken legs, cracked ribs and you pay your $20 just to let her punch your lift ticket all over again"
